Sara Lee Corp.: First-quarter earnings for the Chicago-based food, household and personal care products firm rose 13.3% to $106.3 million. Sales were $3 billion, up 11% from the previous year. The company said strong contributions from existing businesses, new-product launches and the strengthening of foreign currencies against the dollar boosted results.
