LTV Corp.: The steel and aircraft-technology firm reported a $30.4-million net loss for the third quarter, contrasted with net income of $85.7 million a year ago. The Dallas-based firm cited “a significant decline in operating results and lower interest earnings” for the loss. The 1989 quarter included $42 million in income from an investment in a stainless steel-producing company, as well as higher interest income. Sales declined 4% to $1.45 billion.
