New Product to Enhance PC Capabilities: Silicon Graphics, the market leader in three-dimensional graphics technology, today will introduce a product that gives personal computers many of the 3D graphics capabilities of expensive engineering workstations. The product consists of two plug-in circuit boards for IBM-compatible PCs that use the 386 and 486 microprocessors and costs from $3,495 to $4,995. The company hopes that it will open up a new market among architects, mechanical engineers, industrial designers and others who would benefit from 3D capabilities but have been reluctant to purchase workstations.
