Woman Testifies in Assault Case Against Tyson

Share

A young woman told a federal jury in New York City Monday that former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson assaulted her at a disco in 1988, grabbing her breast and buttocks after she refused his advances.

Sandra Miller, 26, shot irate glances at Tyson while testifying at the trial that stems from her $4.5 million suit against Tyson over the attack.

Tyson’s lawyers say the alleged assault never occurred, that Miller never sought medical or psychiatric assistance and that she brought the suit only to get money from Tyson.

But Miller, told her version of the incident to the jury.

She said it began when Tyson grabbed her arm at a Manhattan disco and forcibly pulled her over to him.

“I’m a lady, treat me like a lady,” Miller said she told Tyson.

“I’m the man. I’m Mike Tyson. Don’t you know who I am, I’m heavyweight champion of the world’,” Miller said he responded.

She said she got away from Tyson but he returned two times to assault her.
