SPECIAL DAY: Today is Oct. 31, and you know what day that is: the 66th anniversary of Babe Ruth’s first and only Orange County home run, which sailed out of the park, over a creek and into an orange grove. . . . Both men had assembled off-season exhibition teams, and Johnson, who grew up in Olinda (now part of Brea), arranged for a charity game in his hometown. . . . Ruth’s team won, 12-1, but Brea’s favorite son struck Ruth out during one at-bat.
