11 to Appear at Candidates’ Fair

Eleven candidates for state and federal legislative offices representing the South Bay are scheduled to appear Saturday at a candidates’ fair at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance.

Two incumbents facing reelection Nov. 6--state Sen. Diane E. Watson (D-Los Angeles) and Assemblyman Gerald N. Felando (R-San Pedro)--are slated to attend, according to the local League of Women Voters chapters organizing the event.

The nine challengers scheduled to be on hand include congressional candidates David Barrett Cohen, a Republican facing U.S. Rep. Mel Levine (D-Santa Monica), and Guy C. Kimbrough, a Democrat running against U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Long Beach).

Among the challengers for state office who accepted invitations are Democrat Marilyn Landau, who is opposing Felando, and Republican Rodney D. Guarneri, who is running against Assemblyman Dave Elder (D-San Pedro.)

The event, to include a marching band and speeches by the candidates, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Del Amo Fashion Center plaza behind The Stor.
