Catto’s Comeback: Though some British papers are worried that Jessica Catto spends so little time in London with spouse Henry Catto, the U.S. ambassador, he apparently isn’t bothered. Instead of playing the “wife of” role at social functions, Catto prefers building environmentally sound houses in Colorado. But the ambassador says: “Jessica lives with an airplane strapped to her rear end, but other than that, it’s fine . . . . Jessica Catto half time is better than any other woman I know full time.”

Isn’t That . . .? Yes, that friendly couple sitting in the lounge of a Washington hotel Monday night looked familiar. It was none other than Gary Hart, the former Democratic presidential hopeful. He was having drinks with an attractive woman who, except for her dark hair, looked like sailing pal from the ship Monkey Business, Donna Rice, said columnist Chuck Conconi. They left separately; Hart paid for his vodka and her Scotch. Staff members of the lounge were convinced the woman was Rice.

Life Imitates TV: Vanna White is marketing on cable TV a look-alike doll along with a line of women’s clothes that coordinate with the doll’s. The Home Shopping Network said Tuesday in St. Petersburg, Fla., that the “Wheel of Fortune” letter-turner’s line of merchandise is sold only through cable TV.

Homeboy: Ronald Reagan breezed down memory lane in a visit to Dixon, Ill., his hometown, while bashing Saddam Hussein. The former President said Tuesday: “I love and remember Dixon as the place I always know I can come home to.” The town, 15,700 population, is about 100 miles west of Chicago. Reagan denounced Hussein for Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
