Malibu : Task Force Selects Chair

Share

A 10-member task force to draft a general plan for Malibu, for when the community becomes a city, this week chose as its chairwoman slow-growth activist Sara Wan, wife of Councilman Larry Wan.

The task force, which was appointed last month by the unofficial City Council, held its first meeting Monday. Joan House, an unsuccessful candidate for City Council in the June incorporation election, was selected vice chairwoman.

Although the group will meet twice a month, its task of recommending a general plan to serve as the blueprint for future development of the seaside community will not begin in earnest until after Malibu becomes a city. Several members of the unofficial City Council have expressed interest in expanding the task force to 15 members.
