THE SIDELINES : Top Jockey, Trainer May Reunite

Lester Piggott may team up again as stable jockey to Vincent O’Brien, the Irish trainer with whom he shared many Classic triumphs in the 1960s and ‘70s.

Jockey John Reid announced today he was ending his two-year association with O’Brien and would be going free-lance.

Asked if this meant Piggott might now become O’Brien’s stable jockey again, the trainer’s son, Charles, said: “It is a possibility.”
