New Clinic to Study Engineering Problems
Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Engineering has opened an Engineering Interdisciplinary Clinic to help solve engineering problems for industry.
The clinic has received $90,000 for three projects being sponsored by Southern California Gas Co., General Dynamics Air Defense Systems and Hughes Aircraft Co.
The first project is a study of the possible carcinogenic chemicals produced by auto engines modified to use natural gas.
The second is a look at more effective methods of manufacturing semiconductors, and the third is a study of how to modernize a communications interface, a device used for military applications.
