The body of a Bellflower man who disappeared four months ago while visiting his son in northern Washington state was found last weekend two miles from his son’s home.

Henry Tiemeyer, 65, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, was found by a farmer at the bottom of an irrigation ditch near a cornfield last Saturday. Police and relatives said there was no evidence of foul play.

Tiemeyer disappeared June 25 as he was riding his daughter-in-law’s bicycle from a strawberry field to his son’s home. A massive foot and automobile search was undertaken, and for the next several weeks Tiemeyer reportedly was seen, riding a bicycle, as far south as Seattle. Family members believed Tiemeyer may have been trying to bicycle home to Bellflower.
