Gateway Communications Inc.: The Irvine-based computer products company reported a 10% increase in net income for the third quarter over the like period last year, to $365,000 from $332,000. Revenue rose to $7 million from $6.9 million. For the nine-month period, net income dropped to $167,000 from $756,000. Revenue declined 5%, to $18.7 million from $19.7 million. The company said the 1990 nine months were adversely affected by a first-quarter net loss resulting primarily from the decision to liquidate the company’s Australian subsidiary, in addition to lower revenues and net income in the second quarter.
