School Volunteers Seek Long-Term Goals

Share

More than 350 teachers, parents, students and administrators have begun meeting to devise a plan for guiding Glendale schools into the next century.

The volunteers, divided into 15 teams, are expected to suggest specific ways of meeting general goals developed in August by a 30-member task force. Those goals range from getting more ethnic parents involved in schools to lobbying for more state funding.

The work by the teams is the latest stage of Glendale Schools 2000, a strategic planning process launched in May by the school district. The specific plans will be reviewed by the Board of Education next spring and updated annually, officials said.
