Sierra Madre : Fire Payments Studied

Share

The City Council on Tuesday hired a consulting firm to determine how much the Community Redevelopment Agency should pay to help reconstruct property destroyed in a fire last December.

The Los Angeles consulting firm Economic Research Associates also will decide whether the building projects at 14-24 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., under consideration by property owners Fred Crockett and Helen Elliott, meet the city’s design criteria and provide adequate parking.

City Manager James McRea had said the two new developments being proposed for the site at the southwest corner of Sierra Madre Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue fell short of parking requirements by at least 10 spaces.

The economic and design analysis will be presented to the council Dec. 11, McRea said.
