Bid Awarded for City Hall Upgrade
The Palos Verdes Estates City Council awarded a $70,740 contract Tuesday to Gold Construction Co. of Gardena for City Hall improvements.
The builders will remodel two City Hall bathrooms to make them accessible to the handicapped. They will also improve the kitchen, create new offices out of an old conference room and convert a vacant office in another building into a new conference room. The acoustics and ventilation systems in the City Council chambers will also be improved.
The remodeling is part of an ongoing effort to update city offices. In 1988, staff offices and the council chambers were remodeled at a cost of $116,000.
