Greed, Power Propel Poverty

Share

Thanks for your article “Fotographing Fido” (Joe Bell column, Oct. 19). It gives me a chance to get this off my chest.

A story runs on Americans and their pets and it is pointed out that while Fido lives in luxury, people go hungry. People go hungry while people play golf. People live on the street while people go to ballgames. People have tummy tucks while people have empty tummys.

I am a pet care professional. My work keeps me fed and housed. I contribute to the V.R.M. every month (a shelter for the homeless).

Some people don’t have enough while others have too much. Greed and power keep the cycle of poverty going, not pampered pets.
