ANCHORAGE —
Residents of the village of Koliganek cast their votes last week and came up with a bunch of turkeys.
The villagers have been declared the winners of $500 worth of turkeys in a contest, sponsored by the Bristol Bay Native Assn., to encourage the region’s residents to vote. Seventy of Koliganek’s 87 registered voters, or 80.5%, participated on Nov. 6, said association director Terry Hoefferle.
