WINNING MOVES: Chess whiz Andranik Maissian, who at age 11 won 30 simultaneous games Thursday (B1), is way ahead of his master’s pace. . . . Robert Snyder, 36, founder of the Chess for Juniors Club in Garden Grove, where he coaches Andranik, didn’t start playing until he was 12 and became a master at age 19. As a Santa Ana College student, he played 15 games simultaneously--but lost one. . . . “Different level of play,” Snyder says.
