Union OKs Chrysler Pact: The United Auto Workers have ratified a three-year contract with Chrysler Corp., the last of three pacts with the Big Three auto makers. Union members at Chrysler plants ratified the agreement by better than 4 to 1, the UAW said. The contract calls for a 3% wage increase in the first year and 3% lump-sum payments in the second and third years. The deal also provides income guarantees for workers laid off from factories shut down because of slumping sales for more than 36 weeks.
