BANGKOK, Thailand —
A teen-age British girl pleaded not guilty Tuesday before a juvenile court to charges of heroin smuggling.
Patricia Cahill, 17, and a friend, Karyn Smith, 19, were arrested in July on charges of possessing 58 pounds of heroin, which police said they were trying to smuggle inside liquid-soap bottles.
If found guilty, Cahill could get a life sentence. Smith has pleaded guilty and asked for mercy.
