Applications are being accepted for four seats on the Simi Valley Planning Commission, city officials said Tuesday.

Applicants must live in Simi Valley and not work for the city to be eligible for appointment to the five-member panel, Assistant City Manager Mike Sedell said.

Formal nominations and public interviews of the nominees by the City Council are scheduled Dec. 3. Appointments may be made at that time, Sedell said.

Each member of the council is responsible for the nomination of one commissioner. The commissioners’ terms are concurrent with the term of the nominating council member.

The commission, which advises the council on development matters, generally meets two Wednesday evenings a month.

Applications can be obtained in the city manager’s office at City Hall, Sedell said. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is 3 p.m. Nov. 29.
