Malibu : Sewer Panel to Wait and See

Share

A citizens panel charged with making recommendations concerning a controversial sewer system that Los Angeles County wants to build in Malibu has postponed further meetings until January.

A spokesman for the panel said that a majority of its members decided not to resume holding monthly meetings until after the California Coastal Commission decides whether to allow the county to speed up construction of the proposed $43-million sewer system.

In what figures to be a critical decision, the state panel is to consider the matter when it meets next month in San Diego. The citizens’ sewer advisory panel has scheduled its next meeting for Jan. 14.
