From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A 13-year-old police report raises questions about whether a Death Row inmate committed the murder for which he was condemned, a Dallas newspaper reported. Two experts hired by the Dallas Morning News--a former police officer and a former FBI agent--said Tyler police apparently drew the wrong conclusions from evidence found at the murder scene and later presented an improbable version of events at Kerry Max Cook’s 1978 capital murder trial. Cook, who maintains his innocence, was sentenced to die for the 1977 slaying of Linda Jo Edwards, 21, of Tyler.
