In the two decades since 1970, the number of licensed drivers in Orange County nearly doubled. In 1989, the most recent year for which information is available, more than half the 1.7 million drivers (53%) were men. And nearly a quarter-million of those were between 20 and 29 years old. Only about 1% of our drivers were 80 years of older--and most of those were women. Here’s a more complete look:
