President Bush began a two-day visit to Mexico today to advance the goal of enacting an open trading policy across the two nations’ border.

Bush’s itinerary today included consultations with President Carlos Salinas de Gortari on trade and other U.S.-Mexico issues.

Salinas welcomed Bush to his hometown of Agualeguas and took him to a rodeo before entertaining the President at lunch and talks at the Salinas family residence.
