Geraldine (Gerry) Williamson Mickelsen, 77, a pioneer woman pilot who raced planes cross-country until she reached her late 60s. Mrs. Mickelsen was a member of the Women’s Air Force Pilot Service and president from 1953-55 of the International Ninety-Nines, the women pilots organization founded by Amelia Earhart. She participated in 12 of the All-Women’s Transcontinental Air Races. On Thursday in Sacramento of the complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
