From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The jury in the second Central Park jogger case began deliberations in Manhattan Supreme Court on whether two teen-age defendants raped the woman runner or whether, as they contend, they were tricked into confessing. The defendants, 18 and 16, are accused of rape, sodomy and trying to kill the 30-year-old investment banker on April 19, 1989, and with assault, robbery and riot on two male joggers. Earlier this year, three teen-agers were convicted of raping the woman and sentenced to five to 10 years in jail.
