S&P; Negative on Some Banks, Thrifts: Standard & Poor’s Corp. said it affirmed its ratings on six California banks and thrifts but is changing its outlook to negative because of the state’s weakening real estate market. Institutions affected were H. F. Ahmanson, CalFed, Glendale Federal Bank, Great Western Financial, Security Pacific Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co. S&P;’s outlook on the ratings of BankAmerica Corp., Golden West Financial and H. F. Ahmanson’s Home Savings of America unit remain stable.
