Unocal to Buy Offshore Oil Properties: Unocal Corp. will pay $15.9 million to Oryx Energy Co. for interests in several offshore oil properties. Los Angeles-based Unocal also said it would trade an interest in a gas field in southeastern New Mexico for Oryx interests in properties in Kern and Ventura counties. Last week, Dallas-based Oryx sold a major interest in California’s largest oil field to Arco for $642 million in cash and assumed debt.
