An Israeli military court sentenced 12 Arab guerrillas to 30 years in prison for a foiled seaborne raid in May that prompted Washington to sever its 18-month dialogue with the Palestine Liberation Organization. Israel killed four Palestinians in the attempted speedboat raid on beaches near Tel Aviv.
