Michael S. Heschel resigned as chairman and chief executive of Security Pacific Corp.’s Security Pacific Automation Co. to pursue other business opportunities. John P. Singleton, vice chairman and chief operating officer of the Los Angeles-based bank holding company, will assume Heschel’s responsibilities at the technology subsidiary on an interim basis in addition to his duties at the parent company.
