120 Million in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan —
A nationwide census completed Monday showed a soaring birthrate and a population of about 120 million, almost 40 million more than in 1980. At that rate, family planning experts say, the population will double by the year 2020, threatening to devour the country’s meager resources.
