GROWING: The federal America the Beautiful program aims to plant a billion trees a year (A5), but even without federal help, local arborists foresee a million new trees in Orange County by decade’s end. . . . The Tree Society of Orange County, only 18 months old, has planted around 2,000 trees and is training volunteers for the big push.
