Use Rules to Rid Condo Boards of ‘Gray Hairs’

As a board member in a large condo, (600 units), I read Denise Arant’s “Folks Who Give Homeowner Boards Gray Hairs” (Nov. 18) with great interest. Her description of querulous types in a condominiums was, I think, given with tongue in cheek, and while correct, was unrelievedly one color.

Each member of our 15-person board has an active committee whose members all contribute to the smooth running of our condo. The biggest reward for me as a board member, is the feeling of being at least partly in control over an important aspect of my life, my home and surroundings.

Getting elected to a board of governors doesn’t confer omniscience and some stinging is good for the thought process.
