Yes on Refugees

Letter writer John L. Ritter (Letters From Readers, Dec. 2) should read America’s history more carefully. The people he calls Colonists were indeed refugees from adverse conditions in Northern Europe. These refugees colonized the New England states. Because they were first refugees, we refer to them as Colonists. John L. Ritter should get off his high horse because his ancestors are just as much refugees as are mine who landed on the eastern shore in 1698.
