McGraw-Hill Inc. Sues Sherman Oaks Firm: McGraw-Hill Inc. filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Medi-Legal Institute in Sherman Oaks, claiming that it has unlawfully copied portions of a book, “Medical Malpractice--Handling Dental Cases,” on which McGraw-Hill owns the copyright. Medi-Legal conducts seminars and produces programs and written material for legal, health and insurance practitioners. The suit says the defendant distributes excerpts from the book at seminars, which are held in California, Texas and four other states. (Case No. 90-6551. Filed Dec. 12, 1990).
