Santa Monica : More Preferential Parking

Share

Another preferential parking zone was added to the city last week after residents near St. John’s Hospital complained that patrons and employees of the hospital and nearby medical offices were making residential parking impossible.

The City Council voted 6 to 0, with Councilman Dennis Zane abstaining, to create the new zone, bounded by 20th Street to the west, 26th Street to the east, Wilshire Boulevard to the north and Santa Monica Boulevard to the south. The zone will also include 24th and 25th streets between Santa Monica Boulevard to the north and Broadway to the south.

At a council meeting last week, residents and a representative of St. John’s Hospital expressed support for the new zone, which will allow only residents with city permits to park between 7 a.m. and midnight.
