Judge Rejects Attempt to Block MCA Deal: A federal judge in Los Angeles turned down a request for a temporary restraining order to block Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.’s pending $6.6-billion buyout of MCA Inc. Go-Video Inc., a small Arizona manufacturer of videocassette recorders, sought the order after filing an antitrust suit in Phoenix alleging that Matsushita has conspired with other Japanese concerns to control the hardware for consumer electronics markets, such as videocassette recorders.
