Mexico City Facing Holiday Trash Crisis

MEXICO CITY —
A Christmas trash crisis threatens Mexico City.
The holidays are expected to generate at least 50,000 extra tons of garbage at a time when many sanitation workers are on vacation, the Mexico City daily Excelsior said Thursday.
Even in normal times, this sprawling city of more than 15 million has trouble coping with garbage.
