One of the most prolific and best-selling of contemporary choral composers, Rutter creates consistently assured, stylistically conservative and readily singable music, as his much-recorded choir proves here with sweet, poised performances. It can also be bland and even cloying, as the utterly risk-free performances also demonstrate.
