Talkin’ ‘Bout Lawsuits: The rock band Van Halen filed a lawsuit against 2 Live Crew, claiming the rap group used a Van Halen guitar riff on their controversial album “As Nasty as They Wanna Be.” The U.S. District Court suit filed last week in Los Angeles seeks more than $300,000 for copyright infringement and unfair competition. At issue is guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s famous refrain in the 1978 hit record “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love.” The suit claims 2 Live Crew used the music for a song called “The Funk Shop” on the rap group’s album.
