IBM May Launch Notebook PC: International Business Machines, which has been slow to deliver a notebook-sized computer, will unveil a seven-pound model that uses the popular Intel 386SX microprocessor, according to an upcoming story in InfoWorld, a trade publication. The InfoWorld story indicates that IBM is moving quickly to assure qualification for Lapheld II, a $400-million government contract for an estimated 75,000 laptop or notebook units.
