HUNTINGTON BEACH : Bandit Armed With Shotgun Robs Pair
Two young men doing last-minute Christmas shopping were held up and robbed Sunday night by a man armed with a sawed-off shotgun, police reported Monday.
Lt. Ed McErlain said the two men, ages 18 and 19, had been shopping at the Wherehouse, 16903 Beach Blvd., on Sunday about 9:45 p.m. and were walking back to their car.
McErlain said that a man armed with a 12-gauge, sawed-off, pump-action shotgun confronted them in the parking lot. The man took the billfolds of both men and the keys of the car they were driving. The robber then fled in the car, which is a 1990 black Honda CRX with a California personalized license that reads: DAPECHE.
McErlain said neither of the holdup victims, who were not identified by name, was hurt.
