Ford Launches Recall: Ford Motor Co. recalled about 457,000 of its 1986- to 1988-model Aerostar minivans because of a potential windshield wiper problem. The company also said it was recalling 5,100 of its 1988-90 F-Super Duty motor home chassis to install a new brake-linkage rod to the brake pedal. Ford said it was possible that the linkage could break, causing loss of stopping ability. In the Aerostar recall, gears in the windshield wiper motor could break, making them useless.
