NATION : Barry May Teach Criminology
From Times Wire Services
WASHINGTON —
Former Mayor Marion Barry, sentenced to six months in jail for a cocaine conviction, is being considered as a criminal justice teacher at the University of District of Columbia, a school official said today.
Barry could begin teaching undergraduate students in the school’s criminal justice department as soon as Monday, the beginning of the new semester.
The proposal was portrayed by sources as a way to guarantee that the former mayor receives a city pension.
