WORLD IN BRIEF : GREECE : Two Die, 83 Hurt as Police, Youths Clash
Athens police and rampaging youths clashed after tens of thousands of high school students and teachers marched to protest alleged government involvement in a teacher’s slaying. The bodies of two men were found in a building the youths torched, and at least 83 others were injured. Police fired tear gas grenades and tried to scatter self-styled anarchists who set fires and hurled firebombs and stones. The teacher died in a clash between government supporters and opponents, who back student protests of attendance rules.
