Suspects in 15 Motel Robberies Captured
Two 17-year-old boys suspected in as many as 15 motel robberies in Los Angeles and Orange counties were in custody Saturday after allegedly holding up a Baldwin Park florist, authorities said.
The youths, whose names were withheld because of their age, were arrested Friday by undercover Torrance police officers as suspects in two motel robberies, said Torrance Police Lt. Mike Tamble.
The officers had followed the teen-agers to Baldwin Park and arrested them after they ran out of Lotus Florist Gifts & Cards, Tamble said. Police confiscated two pellet guns that appeared to be semiautomatic weapons, he said.
The boys, who are from the Lennox area, are being held at Los Padrinos Juvenile Facility in Downey.
