U.S. Navy Detonates 14 More Mines in Gulf

WASHINGTON —
The U.S. Navy has detonated 14 or 15 mines in the Persian Gulf in recent days and believes they were sown by Iraq, officials said Saturday. Experts think they may have been laid to prevent U.S. vessels from reaching the coast of Kuwait.
