GUIDEBOOK : Joining a Climb Team

Adventure travel companies offering climbing experiences on Mount Aconcagua include Genet Expeditions, (800) 33-GENET; Mountain Travel, (800) 227-2384, and REI Adventures, (800) 622-2236. Each assembles two or three Aconcagua teams per year, in January and February. Team members must sign a release indicating they realize significant risk is involved in an Aconcagua attempt. Evidence of a pre-climb examination by a physician may also be required. Cost per climber is from $2,000-$2,300, excluding air fare.
