Pinkerton’s Inc., a Van Nuys-based security services concern, said it expects to report that its fiscal fourth-quarter profit climbed 35% to about $3.5 million from $2.6 million a year earlier.

Revenue in the quarter that ended in December fell to about $180 million from $185 million, the company said. Pinkerton’s has yet to formally release specific results for the period.

For all of fiscal 1990, Pinkerton’s said it expects to report earnings from its operations of about $9.3 million, before subtracting a $2.8-million charge that was taken in the second quarter for the company’s early retirement of some debt. In fiscal 1989, Pinkerton’s earned $6.3 million.
